Yoennis Díaz Moreno
Prof. MA. Yoennis Díaz Moreno.
I graduated in Translation-Interpretation for English-French-Spanish from Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba in June 2011. Since then, I have been working as both translator-interpreter and professor of Spanish, English and French as a Foreign Language at Universidad de Oriente. I am a professor of graduate and undergraduate students of the subjects: English (Oral production, Listening skills), French (Oral production, Listening skills), Spanish (Oral production, Listening skills), Translation (English-Spanish, French-Spanish), and Interpretation (English-Spanish).
I currently teach English for Academic Purposes to PhD students at Universidad de Oriente who have been accepted by Erasmus scholarships and other projects that involve international academic mobility and thus need intensive preparation on EAP applied to their specific research field.
I hold an MA on Discourse Analysis Applied to Translation and am a Member of the Cuban Association of Translators-Interpreters, the Official Examination Board for Translators-Interpreters and English Language Majors at Universidad de Oriente. I also work as manager of the project Strengthening Foreign Language Skills for Intercultural and International Academic Purposes between the Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR-UOS) in Belgium/Flanders and Universidad de Oriente in Cuba, devoted to capacity building in higher education in Eastern Cuba, including courses on EAP for joint and local PhD students.
