Ilana Eleá is scientific coordinator at The International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media, Nordicom, at University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
She has a phD in Education from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and studied Media Education at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. Eleá is part of the advisory board for UNESCO Feasibility Study for a MIL Institute, and for Film Pedagogy at Swedish Film Institute, being also involved as scientific reviewer for Grupo Comunicar, in Spain. Ilana organized in 2014 the book: Agents and Voices: a panorama of Media Literacy in Brazil, Portugal and Spain, published both in English and Portuguese/Spanish versions. She is co-editor, with Lothar Mikos, of the book Young Creatives: children and youth sharing their stories, to be published during summer 2017. To work as scientific coordinator at The International Clearinghouse means to invest a lot of energy in international networking, exploring quality research around the globe on children, youth, media, and media and information literacy, spreading this information through our publications, international events and cooperations.
