To truly engage and empower learners, it is crucial to adapt educational content to local contexts. By localising resources, educators can bridge cultural, linguistic, and contextual gaps, making learning more relevant, relatable, and effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this interactive online event on <strong>Wednesday, 20 September <\/strong>the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/project\/edumake\/\" target=\"_blank\">EDUmake project<\/a> partners and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/member\/kavi-national-audiovisual-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\">KAVI<\/a> representative shared their valuable experiences, tips, and tricks in the art of localizing educational resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Presentations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-gridlove-bg-color has-gridlove-acc-background-color has-text-color has-background has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">EDUmake project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tim Van Lier <\/strong>(VRT, Belgium) presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/project\/edumake\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/project\/edumake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EDUmake project<\/a>. To make these resources more relatable, they have taken on a unique approach. Specifically, they have chosen a chat format for the localised versions. Within this interactive chat, students engage in conversations with a central character who acts as an expert in the subject matter. Throughout these conversations, students are presented with explanatory videos and quiz questions, all designed to deepen their understanding of the topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key takeaways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lots of interaction and variety will keep students engaged.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the desired length of the lesson in mind for your target audience. In The Netherlands, a lesson hour is 50 minutes. We adapted the material to fit this.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep accessibility in mind from the start.
