A little over 80 people from mostly UK institutions gathered on 16 April 2019 at the University of Oxford’s Sa\u00efd Business School to discuss the different uses of video in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference was organised as part of a pilot project to establish a one-touch video recording studio using the RapidMooc<\/a> solution funded by the Oxford IT Innovation challenge<\/a>. Part of the project was an effort to learn more about what is known about best practices in the use video across the sector and organising a symposium on the subject was one part of that effort – taking us beyond a simple literature survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The conference proved to be a great success with many participants expressing hope that it will evolve into a continuing series. still a much evolving field, it was organised using a mixed-unconference format. The day consisted of 12 lightning talks, 9 table discussions and a 2-hour open space session. The participants also had a chance to try recording videos using RapidMooc and to see a demo of the Oxford HIVE – a video-centric remote classroom solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
