The HealthyMindEd<\/a> team will showcase the first results of their research at the VII Congress of Teaching Innovation in Higher Education<\/a>: Exploring challenges and opportunities in teaching and learning<\/em>, <\/strong>taking place in Madrid (Spain) from 17\u201321 November 2025<\/strong>. Professor Anna Muro<\/strong> (UAB) will represent the consortium, sharing insights with the academic and scientific community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team\u2019s first study explores the impact of digital higher education on well-being in the post-pandemic era. A scoping review of literature published between 2021 and 2025 across Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC identified seven cross-sectional studies including 3,744 students, but no studies focusing on teaching staff. Results indicate moderate levels of stress, depression and anxiety among students, with insomnia and burnout ranging from low to moderate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several individual and contextual factors\u2014such as learning preferences, satisfaction with digital tools, institutional support and self-management\u2014were linked to well-being. Key barriers included assessment-related stress, digital fatigue, social isolation and infrastructure challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These findings have been essential in defining the criteria for the project\u2019s international survey and focus group strategies, which will collect empirical data from students and teaching staff. The study underscores the need for targeted institutional strategies to support well-being in digital learning environments and calls for further research on diverse digital formats and their impact on both students and educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
