{"id":46220,"date":"2026-04-16T10:54:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T08:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/?p=46220"},"modified":"2026-04-16T10:54:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T08:54:15","slug":"healthyminded-and-barcelona-school-of-new-technologies-launch-serious-game-initiative-to-support-student-digital-well-being","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/media-and-learning.eu\/subject\/higher-education\/healthyminded-and-barcelona-school-of-new-technologies-launch-serious-game-initiative-to-support-student-digital-well-being\/","title":{"rendered":"HealthyMindEd and Barcelona School of New Technologies launch Serious Game initiative to support student digital well-being"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>BARCELONA \u2013 9 April 2024 <\/strong>\u2013 The European project <strong>HealthyMindEd <\/strong>has today launched a strategic collaboration with the <strong>School of New Interactive Technologies of the University of Barcelona (ENTI) <\/strong>for the development of <em>serious games. <\/em>A serious game is an interactive video game or application specifically designed for training, educational, therapeutic or awareness-raising purposes, rather than seeking entertainment alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration was made possible thanks to the UAB team, who invited ENTI to cooperate in the project by offering their students\u2019 the chance to design a Serious Game for HealthyMindEd with the results of the research. The students are training in the subject <strong>&#8220;Advanced Mechanics for Video Game Programming&#8221;<\/strong>, under the direction of Oscar Garcia-Panella, professor, founder and director of the ENTI. The subject is based on a Project Based Learning methodology<em>, <\/em>where <strong>30 students<\/strong>, organised into <strong>five groups<\/strong>, will participate in a gamified competition to create the best video game prototype focused on the scientific results of the HealthyMindEd project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of these video games will be to help students <strong>&#8220;survive the digital challenges of higher education&#8221; <\/strong>while maintaining successful academic performance and positive mental and physical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of the students&#8217; talent and effort, the best project will receive a <strong>prize of 500 euros <\/strong>(provided by the HealthyMindEd project) and the two finalists will also receive recognition in the form of a prize and financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more about this initiative on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthyminded.eu\/news\/healthyminded-and-the-barcelona-school-of-new-technologies-join-forces-to-promote-and-disseminate-university-digital-well-being-through-the-creation-of-a-serious-game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HealthyMindEd website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BARCELONA \u2013 9 April 2024 \u2013 The European project HealthyMindEd has today launched a strategic collaboration with the School of New Interactive Technologies of the University of Barcelona (ENTI) for the development of serious games.
