What remains harder to find are spaces where practitioners can move past the debate and into the practical: what does it actually take to embed AI meaningfully into teaching, learning, and institutional culture?

That is the starting point for Teaching and Learning with AI in Europe (TLWAI), a two-day conference hosted by Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) and the University of Central Florida (UCF) on 19 and 20 October 2026 at the BUas Campus in Breda, Netherlands.

The conference brings together educators, educational developers, and institutional leaders from across Europe and beyond to share what is working, what is not, and what conditions need to be in place for AI to serve meaningful learning. The programme is built around 30-minute practitioner sessions, each designed with transferability in mind: presenters are asked to share what attendees can actually take back and use, not what they are still theorising about. It is a deliberate choice. Thirty minutes is enough time to share something real, and short enough to keep the pace moving and the ideas coming.

Whether you are building an AI strategy from scratch, navigating faculty development, or rethinking assessment in an AI-enabled environment, TLWAI is designed to meet you where the real work happens. That means sessions on redesigning assignments so that AI use becomes a learning opportunity rather than a shortcut, practical approaches to having honest conversations with students about what AI can and cannot do, and strategies for building confidence among colleagues who are still finding their footing. For institutional leaders and individual teachers alike, the focus is the same: less theory, more traction.

Registration is now open, with early bird rates currently available. We hope to see you all there.

Programme details and registration.

There is no shortage of conversation about AI in higher education.
