Widbook is a new service that is part multimedia book authoring tool and part social network. It allows to create digital books containing text, images, and videos as well as creating a virtual bookshelf. It is also possible to invite others to make contributions to one's books.
Widbook has the potential to be a good web-based platform both for students to construct multimedia research papers and for teachers to create their own multimedia textbooks to use in their classrooms.
SciYo - Free Scientific Books
SciYo is an online repository where users can read, download & share more than 273 free scientific books. It's free for everyone, anywhere in the world so long as the original author(s) and source are correctly credited. Sciyo books and book chapters are redirected and read under InTechOpen website (http://www.intechopen.com/), which is an online reading platform that operates under InTech Publishing Group, a multidisciplinary Open Access publisher of scientific journals and books covering the fields of Science, Technology and Medicine.
This video library contains videos that summarise books, elaborate on the context of the story, and is aimed at teenagers to help them engage with books, and the book recap can act as a 'book trailer'.
Students are also invited to make their own book recap (helping them to prioritise their thoughts) and post them to the ClubRecap subsection. Another subsection is 'RecapResource', which features tips on reading, writing, and how students can make their own recap: dictionary of terms, how to write a paper and 'Lights Camera Recap'.

An e-Book/tutorial that provides videographers, technicians and engineers with an in-depth understanding of compression, editing MPEG and the proper setup of color monitors. The author provides an easy to understand tutorial on the systems that are used in much of today's digital equipment. The book is generally aimed at the somewhat advanced videomaker who wants to get most quality out his/her work.
Chapter one provides an in-depth tutorial on the basics of MPEG-2. You will learn about the basic underpinnings of MPEG-2: color sampling, Profiles and Levels, I-frames, P-frames and B-frames.
