Wonder How To

On this web portal users can find more than 170,000 how-to videos & articles from more than 17,000 specialised creators. They are organized in 35 vertical categories and 424 sub-categories. The how-to videos are specially categorised into four main categories: Lifestyle, Science and Tech, Arts, and Gaming.
The access to the contents does not require any subscription or login. Nevertheless, by making an account (signing up is free) users are able to "follow" various subcategories of DIY topics they may want to learn more about.
There is an evaluation system in place, based on user-generated feedback: users can give "kudos" to videos that they find helpful.

Jonatan Academy

Jonatan Academy is a project for creating educational videos in Dutch for elementary schools.
The videos present on the website have been made by 11-year-old kids for younger students to learn the basics of Mathematics and Dutch language. The normal making process for these videos includes a script, the elaboration of visual material in Powerpoint and the publication on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/jonatanschool).
These videos are thought as integration or repetition to what students learn from the teacher, to help them memorise better the concepts explained.
The website also contains instructions and tools that can be useful for medium and high school students and for teachers as a guide to an interesting and useful activity.

Edudemic Education Apps

Edudemic Education Apps is a list of more than 56,000 Education apps for iPad and iPhone. The library provides several research parameters such as age-content rating, supported devices and cost of the app.
For each app the library contains information details about the app (cost, downloadable size, author, etc.) as well as an overview and ratings based on users’ reviews.
The “compare” tool allows selecting various apps and displays their details next to one another so comparisons can be made easily. Some side services, such as the calculation of the average price of the apps, the buying guide and some ready-saved searches can result very useful too.

SURF Foundation - Copyright in higher education

The Dutch organisation SURF has launched a website to support university staff with any questions they might have
related to copyright use. This website which operates in Dutch and in English provides answers related to the Dutch situation which may not always be applicable for other countries. However their explanation of basic rules is very useful.

The website also provides background information and suggests practical ways of dealing with copyright issues and guidelines for those who want to know more about the role of higher education institutions as regards copyright, or who need to find concrete solutions.
