Danny Scholten

Dr. Danny Scholten finished the bachelor- and master programme Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2007. Subsequently he started his PhD at Top Institute Pharma on the molecular pharmacology of membrane-bound G protein-coupled receptors, which are associated with a variety of diseases, including cancer, auto-immune diseases and many more. After completion of his PhD he continued the research as a postdoctoral fellow for 2 years, where he focused on the development of new techniques to measure ligand-receptor interactions. In 2014 he made the switch to a university teaching position with a strong focus on educational innovation using IT tools. As of 2017 he is part of the main staff of the division of Innovations in Human Health & Life Sciences. In his work Danny combines innovation with research into the design and effectiveness of different didactic interventions inside and outside the classroom. Moreover, he helps other teachers implement innovations in their own courses.
