Jack Koumi

Jack Koumi has degrees in Mathematics and in Psychology. Grad Certs in Technology Based Distributed Learning and TEFL.
For 6 years, he was a university lecturer and teacher trainer.
For 23 years until 1993, worked for BBC Open University, producing audio, video and multimedia in Mathematics, Science, Teacher Training, Media Design. Also, over 10 years, he ran a three-month annual course for overseas producers on educational video.
Subsequently, as a freelance consultant, he has conducted over 60 workshops and consultancies in 40 countries. He has also produced video/print and AV teacher training materials and on-the-job trained producers of same in UK, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, New Zealand Kenya, Nigeria, Estonia and Singapore
He has published many papers and instructional texts, plus a book, Designing video and multimedia for open and flexible learning, Routledge 2006, reprinted 2009.
He authored and taught a MOOC, in Jan-Feb 2017, What and How to Teach with Video .
He is now a Senior Lecturer with the University of the Philippines OU, running an online course, Achieving the Pedagogic Potential of Video, for final year Multimedia Studies BA students.
