MEDEAnet webinar: Remembrance education and the role of media

Remembrance is an integral part of nowadays western society. Societies experienced defining tragedies, and likewise modern nations have a certain responsibility for crimes that happened in the past. Recognizing this and discussing appropriate ways to deal with it is part of remembrance or civic education. Of course, also in this field media can help to support innovative types of learning and teaching.
This webinar took place on Thursday 18 September 2014, 4-5pm CET and was attended by 42 participants from 17 countries.

The first speaker was Tim Plyming, Executive Producer for BBC Learning. He talked about what the BBC has been doing both the formal and informal learning space.
The second speaker was Elsa Coupard, editorial coordinator at Ina Hypermedia Studio She presented INA, National Audiovisual Institute, which is a repository of all French radio and television audiovisual archives.
