5Rights Foundation’s Campaign: Children Redrawn

5Rights Foundation, in partnership with the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA), has launched Childhood Redrawn, a Europe-wide campaign calling for a digital world that respects and protects children’s rights. According to the campaign, nearly one in three internet users is a child, and the average European teenager spends seven hours a day on digital devices, even on school days.

The campaign highlights that which no child should have to face, from addictive design and harmful content recommendations to invasions of privacy and emotional dependence on technology. 5Rights argues that these are not accidental flaws but features deliberately built into products that put growth and profit before children’s wellbeing.

Campaign resources including social media graphics and ready-to-use templates for posts, emails, news updates and a campaign description, are available to download, making it easy for organisations and individuals to share the campaign.
