EuroXR 2026 and the NEM Summit, Valencia, Spain 3-6 November 2026

The 23rd EuroXR International Conference is taking place in Valencia this week. It brings together researchers, industry and European projects working on virtual, augmented and mixed reality. The European Association for eXtended Reality (EuroXR) is organising it with the Human-Tech Institute at Universitat Politècnica de València, and the programme includes scientific, application, poster and demo tracks, an industry exhibition, workshops and the EuroXR Awards. XR in Education is one of the key themes, and the Erasmus+ project Alliance4XR holds its final event at the conference.

Running alongside it on 3 and 4 November is the NEM Summit 2026, organised by the NEM Initiative (New European Media) under the theme “The New European Media Landscape: Innovation, Culture and Connectivity.” It takes a media industry and policy perspective, with sessions on XR standards, immersive technologies beyond the media sector, networked media in the 6G era, and arts, culture and heritage. Of particular interest to our community is a session on capacity-building in media. It looks at the new XR and AI skills media professionals need and features projects including VIWAS (the Virtual Worlds Academy), ENACT, ALFIE and VOPUS.
