MEDEA Awards ’25 Edition: Enter the Competition by 28 February!

The MEDEA Awards Organising Committee is thrilled to announce that the Call for Entries for the MEDEA Awards 2025 is officially open! This annual competition, organised by the Media & Learning Associationrecognises the best use of media in education across all levels.

We are looking for entries that showcase outstanding use of multimedia in educational settings, including but not limited to: videos, audios, simulations, AR/VR/XR apps, podcasts, vlogs, animations, any other innovative use of educational multimedia.

Submissions are welcome from students, teachers, schools, production facilities, universities, training companies, agencies, and anyone involved in the creation and use of educational multimedia.

For many years, the MEDEA Awards have been a driving force of innovation and good practice in the use of media in education. These awards recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning resources, highlighting the exceptional work of producers, designers, and educators who inspire the educational community in Europe and beyond.

Important Dates and Events

  • Submission Deadline: 28 February 2025
  • Finalists Announcement: March 2025
  • Awards Ceremony: During the Media & Learning Conference – Educational media that works on 18-19 June 2025 in Leuven, Belgium
  • Cost: Submission is FREE

Finalists will be invited to participate in the Media & Learning Conference, where their entries will be featured on the conference agenda and in the MLA newsletter. The winner will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at the conference.

The 2025 MEDEA Awards will feature the following prizes:

  • The MEDEA Award – Best Educational Media Entry: For outstanding educational media, resources, tools, or services across all education and training sectors.
  • Special Jury Prize: Recognising exceptional innovation in pedagogical or technical design.
  • Audience Favourite Prize: Decided live by the audience during the Awards Ceremony.
  • Emerging Trend Focus – AI in Education: New this year, a special prize will honour innovative applications of AI in educational media production or usage, spotlighting innovative trends in the field.

Call for Judges

We are also looking for experienced judges to help review submissions! If you have expertise in media, video, technology, education, or training, and would like to contribute, please fill in our volunteer form.
