XR for teaching and learning in Higher Education, what research and practice tell us
- Online
Extended reality (XR) is moving from pilot projects into everyday teaching. Virtual, augmented and mixed reality can make abstract concepts tangible, let students practise in safe simulated environments, and offer experiences that would otherwise be too costly, risky or remote.
As adoption grows, so do the questions. When does XR add real pedagogical value, and when is it just novelty? Who gets access, and who is left out? What happens to the data headsets collect, and how do we protect student wellbeing? This webinar brings research and practice together to explore how XR can be used meaningfully and responsibly in higher education:
Speakers:
- Ekaterina Prasolova-Førland, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway
- Bertrik Berfelo, HAN University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands
- Petteri Stavén, University of Oulu, Finland
Moderator: Carl Boel, VIVES University of Applied Sciences, Belgium
