Subtitle Edit is a free (open source) editor for video subtitles. It allows you to create, edit, adjust or synchronize subtitles for videos. The application is quite easy to use: the interface contains the list of the available and editable subtitles, the audio wave form and a video player that plays videos in most common formats. Subtitle Edit supports more or less all known subtitle formats and can convert between most of these. So, what can you do with Subtitle Edit? You can create and edit new subtitles from scratch, you can easily sync or resync existing subtitles, you can even use Google translate in auto-mode or spell checkers. On the Subtitle Edit homepage you will find a good set of tutorial videos that will help you get to grips quickly. Subtitle Edit is available for almost all European languages (and many more) and can be downloaded for free.
There is also a fully online version available.
