The University of Galway was founded in 1845 and is located in western Ireland on the rugged coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a student population of nearly 19,000, 17% of which are international students from 122 countries. The university provides teaching and research across the sciences, social sciences and humanities, delivered through four colleges, 19 schools, five research institutes and a range of research centres and clusters. LINK has a special responsibility for ensuring knowledge sharing, creating networks across subjects and disciplines, further developing teaching expertise and increasing students’ learning outcomes across the University of Oslo. We are a resource for lecturers, students and units, and our activities are developed with research-based knowledge about higher education. We have a strong media production unit, with comprehensive film production skills.

University of Groningen

The University of Groningen was founded in 1614 and has over 6.000 fte staff and 36.000 students, spread over 11 faculties. It participates in various national and international projects aiming at innovating the use of multimedia in education. The university has so far published 14 MOOCs on the Futurelearn platform. Its facilities include professional broadcasting studios and a growing number of do-it-yourself studios. In addition, the Reality Center offers highly advanced Virtual Reality (VR) facilities for research and education.

The Université Ouverte des Humanités (UOH) is one of the eight digital universities in France. The disciplinary fields of the institution are the following: human sciences, social sciences, letters, languages and arts. The Audiovisual Center (AVC) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is a centre of expertise on video in education. It produces video, such as educational videos, webinars, live streams and podcasts and provides policymakers, teachers and supporting staff with advice on the use of audiovisual media in education with a pedagogical, technical and organisational point of view.

Universität Osnabrück

virtUOS is an academic service provider for the entire university. Our services range from pedagogical consulting for lecturers, infrastructure services for digital teaching (LMS, lecture recording, video conferencing and more) to the management of student data. Additionally virtUOS is also a research and development department, where several software developers work on open-source educational software, and pedagogues research the effect of digital teaching projects.
