Laure Michelon & Jean-François (Jeff) Van de Poël to deliver keynotes at Media & Learning 2026

We are pleased to announce that Laure Michelon, Design Solutions Architect at Fuser and Lecturer at UCLA AUD, will deliver a keynote at Media & Learning 2026: Co-creating the future of learning entitled “Sound Architecture” and Jean-François (Jeff) Van de Poël will give a presentation titled “The Augmented Teacher: Navigating AI as an instrument, not an oracle”.

Laure Michelon will explore how architecture has traditionally privileged sight and how her work repositions sound as a design medium, examining how digital technology can shape spatial experience and evoke emotion and memory through the acoustical dimensions of space.

Jean-François (Jeff) Van de Poël will will present a balanced approach to AI in higher education, arguing that educators should use it to extend their expertise – easing workload pressures, supporting diverse learners, and improving feedback – without surrendering professional judgment. Jeff will emphasise that effective use depends on deliberate, pedagogically grounded choices and strong ethical awareness, ensuring teachers remain in control of their practice.
