The European Commission’s report, titled “Digital Education Content in the EU: State of Play and Policy Options,” unveiled a comprehensive analysis of the current landscape of digital educational resources across Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), Primary and Secondary Education, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and Higher Education (HE) sectors within the EU. Conducted between July 2022 and September 2023, the study utilised a multifaceted approach, combining desk research, country-specific mapping across EU27, case studies, and market analysis. By engaging a Stakeholder Consultation Group (SCG) representing both supply and demand sides of Europe’s Digital Education Ecosystem, the report aims to inform strategic interventions and policy decisions, pinpointing challenges and opportunities to foster a more robust and inclusive digital education framework at the EU level.
