Media & Learning 2016: Enriching learning through media education and media literacy took place on 10-11 March 2016 in Brussels . The objective of the conference was to first of all highlight the value and impact of media in enriching learning and the agenda provided plenty of opportunities for policy-makers, practitioners and researchers to share their thoughts on the changing learning landscape. Secondly, going beyond formal learning, conference participants had an opportunity to reflect on how to promote a critical understanding of media amongst citizens of every age. This included discussions into the broader question of how best to equip all European citizens with the necessary skills and competences to deal with an increasingly mediatised society as active creators rather than simply passive recipients.
