MOOC: AI for Creative Work Specialisation

The “AI for Creative Work” MOOC, offered by the University of Michigan on Coursera, is designed to help individuals understand and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into creative processes. This course at beginner’s level covers the relationship between AI and creativity, the ethical considerations of AI use, and practical skills for employing AI tools effectively.  Instructors are Charles Garrett and Garrett Schumann, both from the University of Michigan.

The MOOC will take around 13 hours to complete. The courses include:

  1. AI Basics and Tools for Creativity (4 hours) focuses on understanding the relationship between creative work and AI technology; selecting appropriate AI tools for creative projects.
  2. AI Ethics, Responsible Use, and Creativity (5 hours) focuses on evaluating and employing AI tools sustainably; assessing risks associated with generative AI in creative work; understanding responsible AI use.
  3. Using AI to Expand Creativity (4 hours) focuses on exploring the connection between AI and human creative expression; enhancing creativity through AI collaboration.
