How can we best support teaching staff in implementing media-rich teaching and learning? And how can we use teaching material for on-site classes in hybrid settings meaningfully?
The Teaching Toolbox, developed by Osnabrück University, is a web resource designed to help educators enhance media-rich teaching and adapt on-site materials for hybrid settings. The Toolbox aims to simplify digital and hybrid course transformation by addressing “weak spots” such as instructor uncertainty with digital tools, lack of engagement, and hybrid teaching challenges. It offers 8 didactical “building blocks”—key areas like Human Touch, Student Engagement, and Accessible Material—each with practical tips, tool suggestions, and step-by-step guides. Customisable and AGPL-licensed, the Toolbox also includes GDPR-compliant tool recommendations and a personalised checklist for streamlined course prep, allowing educators to modify content to suit specific needs.
