Media & Learning announces change in leadership

We are pleased to announce that Monika Theron will be joining the Media and Learning Association as the new Director, effective June 1st, 2025. With a background in film and media production, Monika transitioned into higher education eight years ago, where she has applied her expertise in media production, innovation, and ed-tech solutions. Most recently, she has served as a Data and Media Manager. Monika brings valuable forward-thinking strategies, a robust professional network, and a dedication to staying current with industry trends.

Monika will take over this leadership role from Sally Reynolds who will be retiring in the Autumn. Since the association’s inception in 2012, Sally has been a part of the growth, guiding it through various stages – from a completely voluntary initiative with only 6 members to the respected and dynamic community of 100 members that it is today. Under Sally’s leadership, the association has brought together individuals and organisations passionate about media-based learning, media education, and literacy.

We are confident that Monika will be a valuable asset to the ongoing success and growth of the Media and Learning Association and wish Sally the very best in her future endeavours.
