Second European Digital Citizenship Education Forum, Strasbourg, 27-29 May 2026

The Council of Europe is set to host the Second European Digital Citizenship Education (DCE) Forum from 27 to 29 May 2026 in Strasbourg. This landmark event aims to evaluate the outcomes of the European Year 2025 and assess the progress made by member states in promoting digital citizenship education across the continent.

The Forum will focus on:

  • Reviewing achievements from the European Year 2025 and summarizing national efforts in advancing digital citizenship education.
  • Developing a five-year action plan for the implementation of the DCE Road Map (2027–2031), which will guide member states in fulfilling their commitments to digital education.
  • Strengthening international cooperation to uphold human rights and the rule of law in the digital age.

The event is not just a reflection on past successes but a platform to build consensus on future trends in digital citizenship and education. By emphasising inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration, the Forum seeks to empower European education systems to adapt to the challenges of the digital era and ensure all citizens can thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
