The Media & Learning Association (MLA) is in the process of developing an active learning game aimed at 14-16 year old students to help them acquire the skills to spot fake news. A first international version of this online game will be ready for testing in Spring.
This work is part of the SMILES project which is all about helping young people learn how to combat fake news and disinformation. MLA is developing this module in close cooperation with members Mediawijs and UCLL. The recruitment for teachers and librarians to trial the module in Belgium (Flanders) will be organised through Mediawijs and UCLL and will begin after Easter when the schedule for workshops for teachers and librarians is announced.
