New MLA members from France, Italy, Cyprus & Croatia!

It’s been busy in our secretariat in recent weeks while amongst other tasks, we were delighted to welcome 4 new members to our association and to start to find ways in which we can collaborate with them to maximise their engagement in the Media & Learning Association.

The first member to join us is as a Networking member is the Association France Immersive Learning, created in 2018, to federate stakeholders in immersive technologies and structure a French industry of excellence. Today, the association has over 150 members, including makers (solution producers), users (companies) and funding prescribers. Through its actions and positioning, France Immersive Learning aims to: support the structuring of an industry and thus contribute to the objective of French digital sovereignty; promote the pedagogical virtues of immersive technologies in the fields of education, training, culture and heritage preservation and demystify immersive technologies, with the aim of making them attractive and accessible to as many people as possible.

From Italy, joining us is Dataninja, a company born from a data team and active in Europe since 2012. The company offers data and media literacy training for different targets and data storytelling content. Their membership is driven by their project Open the Box which promotes media, data, AI literacy in educational contexts.

From Cyprus, also joining us is the Cyprus Pedagigucal Institute. The Institute operates under the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sport, and Youth, with a mission to provide continuous training for teachers at all levels. The Institute offers in-service training through various compulsory programs and optional seminars, supports teachers’ professional learning at the school level, plans and executes educational research and evaluation studies, and follows and adapts to current trends in pedagogy.

Last but not least, joining us from Croatia: CARNET (Croatian Academic and Research Network), is a public institution operating within the Ministry of Science and Education in the field of information and communication technology and its application in education. CARNET network is a private network of the academic, scientific and research community of the Republic of Croatia, as well as an institution within the primary and secondary education system. Their services are available to primary and secondary schools, institutions from the science and higher education institutions, as well as to numerous public institutions such as certain ministries, hospitals, etc.
