This month the Media & Learning Association is pleased to welcome two new organisational members: Houston Community College, from the United States and the Technological University of the Shannon, Ireland.

The Reality COLLAB at Houston Community College, formerly known as XR Lab & Studio, is the region’s pioneering hub for immersive technologies since its establishment in 2016. It offers a dynamic and resource-rich environment for exploring and utilizing virtual reality, augmented reality, and other advanced spatial computing technologies. The facility is equipped with a wide range of tools, including diverse software and design platforms, various headset configurations, high-performance workstations, and extensive filming resources. Reality COLLAB’s mission is to empower students and the broader community to explore, innovate, and forge new paths in multiple industries through the creative application of cutting-edge technologies. The Technological University of the Shannon provides Level 8 and Level 9 accredited academic courses in a variety of creative media and multimodal generativism. The Department of Digital Arts and Media along with the TUS Digital Arts Lab, is at the cutting edge of content creation, teaching students digital animation, creative multimedia, game art design, and visual effects.
