Learning lessons in media literacy from the neighbours in the Nordic countries

In autumn 2020, Nordicom and the Swedish Media Council will co-organize a series of webinars addressing media and information literacy (MIL) in the Nordic countries: Media Education in the Nordic Countries: Lessons Learned from the Neighbours. This series of three 45-minute webinars, we will take a look at some topical MIL issues in Finland, Denmark and Norway and will be open to the public. The plan is for them to take place on September 23, September 30 and October 7 and registration will open in August. You can read more about the series here.

Meanwhile, Nordicom, which is a member of the Media & Learning Association is currently discussing with the association how this webinar series might be extended to cover activities in other parts of Europe using a similar format where we manage a discussion between a researcher and a practitioner in a specific country or region and use the opportunity to highlight other MIL projects and initiatives in that country. Initial plans are for this extended series to start in November.
