Ofcom is relaunching their online media literacy programme, using their existing powers, with the goal of promoting people’s ability to participate effectively and stay safe online. They are organising their programme of work under the following five pillars, namely engage with the wide range of media literacy practitioners, initiate pilot trials and campaigns to promote media literacy, establish best-practice design principles for media literacy, evaluate media literacy initiatives by producing core resources and guidance on what works and research the state of media literacy and share our evidence.
