Ofcom report on identifying what works in media literacy published

Ofcom have just published an important new report What works in delivering media literay activities which draws together the main findings and recommendations following a 14-month project which saw organisations across the UK trial innovative approaches to boost people’s media literacy skills. These activities all delivered positive impacts for their participants and are considered under three categories; activities aimed at children and young people, older adults or disabled peole and people with learning disabilities. For each category, the authors identify success factors worth considering along with important practical guidelines.

At the same time Ofcom have published a really useful Outcomes bank, a set of 24 outcomes, example indicators and survey questions, structured around five areas, each corresponding with a different aspect of media literacy.
