AI (Literacy) in Teaching & Learning

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, its potential to revolutionise teaching and learning is accompanied by significant challenges. Foremost among these is the importance of educating teachers in AI literacy—understanding how AI systems work, recognising their potential and limitations, and being aware of the ethical implications of AI technology. The complexities of AI implementation in primary and secondary education require careful consideration to ensure it benefits both students and educators.

In this session, we tackled the key aspects of AI in education, focusing on how AI can empower teachers and enhance the learning experience. We placed a special emphasis on the critical importance of AI literacy, ensuring that both educators and students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and utilise AI effectively. The discussion also highlighted the necessity of comprehensive teacher training to facilitate the seamless integration of AI into classrooms.
