  • Sébastien Schmitz, IHECS, Belgium From lecture to radio, from amphitheatre to radio-scenia : How can the language and uses of radio/podcasts contribute to pedagogical practice ? Laboratory of teaching and workshops experiences.
  • Conrado Silva de Farias & Kara Johnston, Heriot-Watt Online, UK ‘The sound of wellbeing – using soundscapes to nurture online student wellness. Natural soundscapes have significant potential to increase positive emotional states. Research results are promising; soundscapes incorporating elements like birdsong and flowing water have shown the ability to reduce stress.Our session will delve into how we are embracing this principle by delivering resources and media content featuring natural soundscapes to foster wellbeing among our community of students, who engage with our courses online and asynchronously.
  • Audun Bjerknes, University of Oslo, Norway Quite literally sound resonates with us, and opens up possibilities for sensory experiences that can be used to create a sense of meaning and belonging in an accellerating world. We will look at a few examples of educational media that tap into the potential of sound to create authenticity and a sense of “being there”.
