MEDEA Awards Competition 2026 now open for submissions

The MEDEA Awards Competition 2026 is now officially open for submissions. Organised annually by the Media & Learning Association (MLA), the competition recognises excellence in the use of media and technology to support education and training at all levels.

The MEDEA Awards welcome a wide range of educational multimedia entries, including videos, audio productions, graphics, games and simulations, AR/VR/XR applications, podcasts, vlogs, animations, AI-powered tools, and other innovative digital learning resources.

Submissions are open to students, teachers, schools, universities, production facilities, training providers, agencies, and all professionals involved in the creation or use of educational media.

Prizes for 2026

Participants will be eligible for the following awards:

  • MEDEA Award for Best Educational Media Entry, recognising outstanding educational media across all sectors and levels of education and training
  • Special MEDEA Jury Prize, awarded at the discretion of the jury for exceptional innovation in pedagogical or technical design
  • Audience Favourite Prize, selected by the audience during the Awards Ceremony
  • Thematic Prize – Best Use of Educational Media in Science, honouring innovative applications of educational media in science, co-awarded with the International Association of Media in Science (IAMS)

The deadline for submissions is 28 February 2026, and participation is free of charge. Entries must be submitted via the MEDEA Awards’ new online platform.
