The Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE) has opened preparations for its 2026 Winter Conference, set to take place in Braga, Portugal at the University of Minho on 30 April 2026.
Themed “Science and Mathematics Education in the Digital Era”, the event aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and educators from around the world to explore how digital technologies are reshaping science and mathematics teaching and learning. Participants will discuss both established and emerging topics in research, from curriculum design and assessment to AI, digital labs, gamification, and STEM education for diverse and inclusive classrooms.
Key goals of the conference include reconceptualising traditional approaches in light of digital innovations, and examining challenges such as teacher shortages and strategies for attracting future educators, including for early childhood, school, and university levels.
The programme will offer opportunities to present papers on a range of sub-themes, including teacher education for a digital future, motivating students in STEM, and the role of robotics and maker education.
