Best Media Literacy Practices in Iberoamerica revealed

The Media and Information Literacy (MIL) community has an exciting new resource at its disposal: the UNESCO-PRAI Mapping publication on relevant MIL best practices in Iberoamerica is now available. This comprehensive work includes in-depth analysis and recommendations, along with detailed descriptions of 52 MIL best practices across the region.

This document presents the Mapping of Media and Information Literacy initiatives in Ibero-America carried out throughout 2023 based on a questionnaire addressed to members of the Ibero-American Platform of Audiovisual Regulators (PRAI), public service media, and various relevant public and civil organisations in the field of Media and Information Literacy in the Iberoamerican region.

The objective of the Mapping is to identify recent MIL practices implemented by all the respondents in their respective field of competence, to systematize their experiences and results and to raise awareness among the target groups about the role played by these entities in promoting the MIL.

This document integrates the presentation of the project, as well as its main findings and recommendations for the promotion and dissemination of MIL in the region.

It is accompanied by two annexes that detail the 52 identified initiatives that make up the Mapping.
