UNESCO and the Government of Colombia are proud to announce that Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week 2025 will be held in the historic city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, on 23–24 October 2025.

This year’s theme, “Minds over AI – MIL in Digital Spaces,” will explore the critical role of media and information literacy in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how we access, share, and interpret information, MIL is more essential than ever in promoting critical thinking, civic engagement, and digital inclusion.

Global MIL Week 2025 will bring together governments, educators, civil society, media organizations, tech companies, and youth leaders to collaboratively shape a human-centered digital future.
