vMix is a software video mixer and switcher that takes advantage of powerful computer hardware to provide live HD video mixing, making dedicated hardware mixers for live video production (almost) obsolete. vMix also functions as live streaming software that allows you to publish your live production from within the same workflow directly to the Internet.
At first sight, vMix will be daunting: it is truly a packed software with more or less all functions that you want to apply to your live production in one package. Features include obviously live mixing, switching, recording and streaming. vMix supports cameras in SD, full HD and 4K video. Automated play out is possible from video files, DVDs, images, Powerpoint etc. Live stream is possible to Facebook Live, YouTube, Twitch and Ustream but also to Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts and VLC. vMix can record in full HD to AVI, MP4, MPEG-2 or WMV or via AJA, Blackmagic and Bluefish cards to professional recorders. Name it and you got it: transition effects, titles and animated grafics, (chroma) keying, virtual sets, instant slow motion, remote contribution, audio mixer built in, live video effects, multiview, NDI capabilities, PTZ camera control, SRT support for point to point video connections with fixed latency streams over the internet, and so on. Price ranges from 60 USD (SD, 4 inputs) to 1200 USD (1000 inputs in 4K !)
vMix runs on Windows. Free 60 day fully functioning trial version available.
