A new Media and Information Course for adult educators was launched recently by UNESCO’s Media and Information Literacy and Digital Competencies Unit with the financial support of Shanghai Open University (SOU). This course equips adult educators to combat misinformation and harmful online content by fostering critical thinking and digital literacy, promoting informed and active digital citizenship. The launch of the course aligns with the call for increased media and information literacy efforts by countries as part of the Pact for the Future, adopted at the United Nations Summit of the Future in September 2024. This course is open and freely available to all
