Recommendations from and for Centers for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Part of series: Online Workshops & Seminars

We hosted an online event where we presented the policy recommendations from the TransACTION! project, which investigated the operational structures, practices, and challenges faced by Centers for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and similar support providers in higher education. This event explored three key areas of recommendations:

  • Position and Value: Insights for decision-makers on the importance of support providers.
  • Structure and Operation: Guidance for senior HEI staff on optimizing the functioning of these centers.
  • Design and Production: Best practices for support providers on the design, production, and format of educational media.

These recommendations were informed by discussions with CTLs at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in Germany, Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in the Netherlands, Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain, and KU Leuven in Belgium. We welcomed colleagues from various institutions to join the conversation and collaborate on strategies to enhance the effectiveness and impact of support providers in higher education.
