The first research publication from HealthyMindED has been officially published on Cogent, marking an important milestone for the project.
The paper “Well-being in post-pandemic digital higher education: a scopingreview of students and teaching staff” explores the impact of post-pandemic digital learning on well-being in higher education. Drawing on a scoping review of recent studies (2021–2025), the publication highlights that while digital education has expanded rapidly, its effects on well-being remain only partially understood. The findings indicate moderate levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among students, shaped by factors such as digital tool satisfaction, institutional support, and individual self-management skills. Challenges including digital fatigue, social isolation, and assessment-related stress also emerge as key concerns.
Importantly, the review identifies a significant gap in research on teaching staff well-being, pointing to the need for a more comprehensive understanding of how digital transformation affects all members of the academic community.
This publication represents a first step in building a stronger evidence base to inform future research and support strategies for well-being in digitally mediated higher education.
