The Blackmagic Camera app for iOS and Android have some key differences that reflect the hardware capabilities and typical use cases of each platform. The Android version supports up to 8K recording, while the iOS version is limited to 4K. iOS supports Apple ProRes in addition to HEVC (H.265) and H.264, whereas Android only supports HEVC (H.265) and H.264. iOS offers also more advanced audio options, including multiple microphone configurations and formats like Linear PCM. And finally iOS includes more stabilization modes (Standard, Cinematic, Extreme), while Android offers Optical stabilization.
But the good news is that both Android and iOS versions remain free and available in your app store!
