The Media & Learning Association is pleased to announce that this year’s MLA4MedLit conference, one of our annual events dedicated to exploring emerging priorities in digital and media literacy, will take place online on Friday 23 October, from 13:30 to 17:00 CEST.
Following the success of our 2025 edition, “Building Societal Resilience through Digital and Media Literacy for Everyone,” this year’s conference turns a critical eye on the field itself. Entitled “Whose Literacy? Whose Rights? Interrogating Digital and Media Literacy for Everyone,” the event invites participants to step back and question some of the field’s own assumptions — about who is being reached, who is being left out, and who gets to decide what “literacy for everyone” really means.
Bringing together researchers, educators, practitioners, policy-makers, and civil society actors, this year’s edition opens up a space for critical reflection — asking not just what media literacy looks like today, but for whom, and at what cost when it falls short.
