Disabled Women Ireland, a national representative organisation of disabled women, girls, and non-binary people in Ireland, will host its final session in its series on misinformation and disinformation on disabled people in media. With particular attention to neurodivergent people, panellists will share their lived experiences and examine how negative stereotypes are propagated by media narratives and amplified by social media platforms. The programme takes place online on Tuesday 10 November 2026 from 20:00 to 21:30 CET.
Funded by Coimisiún na Meán, Disabled Women Ireland and the Disability Participation News Hub have organised a five-part online series of workshops on the involvement and representation of disabled people across the media. The previous episodes have explored different aspects of disabled people’s participation and representation in the media, including the language used to discuss disability, access to media production spaces, and the representation of disabled people in Irish Journalism. The fourth session will be held online on 13 October 2026 about representation of disabled people in Irish film, television, and broadcast media.
