The conference agenda for this year’s Media & Learning Conference being held on 17-18 June and organised jointly by MLA and KU Leuven is now complete. We are looking forward to welcoming participants to the vibrant City of Leuven and extend a last minute invitation to anyone who has not yet registered to do so here.
This year’s two day event under the banner theme Co-creating the future of learning is packed with workshops, networking opportunities and inspiring talks. In just 10 days we will be reaching out to all registered participants of this conference to book their places for workshops and other sessions. Here are just some of the workshops on our agenda:
- Learning languages with a combined approach of storytelling, visual learning, and AI driven Socratic dialogue led by Ruth Maloszek, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany
- CTL Alignment Workshop for Digital Teams led by Nynke Kruiderink from Npuls in the Netherlands,
- The Ten-Minute Experiment: Using Microlearning to Reduce Cognitive Load led by Alice Pistono from JoVE in Italy,
- Rapid Photorealism: Getting to Grips with 3D Gaussian Splatting led by Nathan Saucier from Leiden University in the Netherlands
- Designing AI-Mediated Learning Experiences with COMPASS led by Olysha Magruder & James Diamond from Johns Hopkins University in the US.
- AI and Problem-Based Learning: Shaping Student Competencies for Uncertain Futures led by Roland Böttcher, Bochum University of Applied Science, Germany
- Deconstructing Representation in Text-to-Video Generative-AI led by Shant Bayramian, Inholland University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands

This year’s agenda also includes a special online ‘in conversation’ session with Stephen Downes, renowned digital learning designer and commentator to discuss his ideas on where we are going with AI in higher education.
