Registrations are now open for the 6th Global Summit on Disinformation, which will take place online on May 27–28, 2026. The event is free of charge and will be held in a bilingual format (Spanish and English), making it accessible to a wide international audience.
Over the course of two days, the Summit will bring together experts from the fields of journalism, technology, and academia to explore current challenges and responses to disinformation. The programme will include thematic panels, case studies, interactive workshops, and discussion sessions led by international practitioners and researchers.
This year’s edition will focus on four key themes:
- Trust in Dispute
- Rethinking Disinformation Research
- Innovate to Act
- Educating for Critical Thinking
In addition, the Summit is currently accepting submissions for its “Project Round,” with a deadline of May 2, 2026. This call aims to showcase and support innovative initiatives addressing disinformation, particularly in the areas of climate change and health.
The event is organised by Proyecto Desconfío (Argentina), the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), and Fundación para el Periodismo (Bolivia), organisations actively engaged in strengthening media integrity, press freedom, and public awareness.
Participation is open to all interested stakeholders, including educators, media professionals, researchers, and policymakers working at the intersection of media literacy and digital information.
More information and registration details are available on the event website.
