In an upcoming webinar organised by the European Digital Education Hub, taking place on Tuesday 12 May from 10:00 to 11:00 CEST, the updated “Guidelines for teachers to foster digital literacy and tackle disinformation” will be presented. Experts from across Europe developed these guidelines to support teachers in strengthening students’ digital literacy skills, critical thinking, and ability to recognise and respond to disinformation online. The session will feature Sally Reynolds, Interim COO of Media & Learning, who will share insights on the development process of the guidelines, recent updates, and key thematic areas, as well as practical approaches for using them in educational settings.
The guidelines cover:
- Practical, evidence-based tools for use in the classroom
- Disinformation and manipulation
- Encourage ethical, transparent and inclusive use of AI
- How to build students’ critical thinking and fact-checking skills
