This month, the Media & Learning Association is pleased to welcome four new organisational members: NHL Stenden University for Applied Sciences & HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht from the Netherlands, Folkets Bio Filmpedagogerna AB from Sweden and Johns Hopkins University from USA.
As part of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, the Academy for Media, Commerce & Entrepreneurship (AMCE) brings together expertise across media, communication, business, retail, and entrepreneurship. Through practice-oriented education, applied research, and close collaboration with industry, AMCE equips students to become creative and entrepreneurial professionals ready to shape the future of media, commerce, and communication. We’re excited to welcome colleagues at AMCE and the wider NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences community, and we look forward to the opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange ahead.

Filmpedagogerna Folkets Bio is a non-profit association specialising in film, media and information literacy. It provides lectures, professional development, training and workshops for the education sector, as well as projects for senior citizens. Its work covers topics including AI, social media, news, advertising, propaganda, source criticism, storytelling and online safety.
Since 2010, Filmpedagogerna Folkets Bio has collaborated with UNESCO on media and information literacy and is a member of the European Commission’s Media Literacy Expert Group. In 2025, the organisation reached approximately 10,000 people through 400 activities, while around 4,000 students created nearly 800 films during their workshops.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Teaching and Learning Design (CTLD) supports Whiting School of Engineering faculty in creating innovative, accessible, and research-based learning experiences. The department provides course-design consultation, quality assurance, and professional development for online, in-person, and blended instruction.
