Translator: it provides translations in more than 50 languages (in the style of Google Translate) . The number of characters is limited for each translation.
Spanish: a recently-launched product for learning Spanish at many levels. Pronunciation is still done by an automated reader with English setting up.
Word of the Day: it sends a daily email with a word to learn and its definition, selected to enrich the lexicon of the users.
The Hot Word Blog: it examines the terms tossed about around the world and draws meaning from news-making events.
Games: designed to entertain and educate. There is a variety of them on the platform.
Getty Museum Website
The J. Paul Getty Museum is an art museum in California that contains a collection of "Western art from the Middle Ages to the present" as well as art from ancient Greece, Rome and Etruria. The Museum provides its visitors with access to the most innovative research in the visual arts both in its Getty Center and Getty Villa sites and on the Internet.
The website of the museum offers several services useful to teachers and students. Here follow some of them:

Tiching is a free Spanish platform dedicated to education. It collects teaching resources and a social network has formed on top of this service. At present collected resources are more than 83000. The website is available in all official languages of Spain and in English. Tiching is aimed at the whole education community: teaching staff, students, families, publishers and anybody related in some way to the world of education.
Two search engines are provided. The internal one gives a number of options to refine researches, including language, skills, level of education, etc. The second search engine can be installed in external WordPress websites and blogs to perform searches in Tiching directly from there.
The social network has been designed for the education community and is formed by more than 25000 people collaborating from all over Spain.
There are many types of digital educational content in Tiching: activities tutorials, projects, teachers guides, etc. They are provided in many different formats such as video, text, image, interactive activity, etc.
Each content file contains:
• Basic information: title, description, image, tags, language, short URL, creator;
• Validation: it’s the internal validation process through which every resource passes when uploaded
• Thanks: it’s a feedback about the usefulness of a resource
Ptable is an interactive Web 2.0 periodic table. It provides dynamic layouts, property trend visualization, orbitals, thousands of isotopes, and 5 writeup sources. The application uses no Flash or images, giving all the scalability and accessibility of a normal web page (it can be viewed on any kind of computer and device).
The layout, unless differently specified by the user, automatically switch to fit the width of the screen. Using the check boxes at the top of the page allows to dynamically switch between various configurations (simple, with names, with electron configuration, and inline inner transition metals).
In addition to Wikipedia descriptions in all languages, write-ups, photos, videos, and even podcasts are offered in the first tab's dropdown. Write-up windows can even be torn off or docked to the edges to allow simultaneous use of the table while reading.
Data is acquired from primary sources and curated libraries. Layout and presentation were reviewed by the world's foremost periodic table academic, Eric Scerri. Translations and non-English element names, however, should be considered no more reliable than Wikipedia.
Search (into the box at the top right) can be performed by name, symbol, or atomic number. Advanced searches work, for example, on the atomic weight, number of orbitals, etc.
Most browsers, tablets, and phones can store the site and its data for use offline. Firefox prompts you with a notification bar at the top while Chrome and Safari directly save it.

TeachersFirst is a free website for teachers that contains reviews of external resources as well as own original resources. All the resources are reviewed by teaching professionals with relevant experience. Reviews point out any safety or policy concerns for the tool and offer links to management tips for each concern. The own units and lessons have been developed for actual classrooms, in consultation with practicing professionals or by the teachers themselves.
TeachersFirst is written and edited entirely by experienced, professional educators.

WriteCheck is designed for students to check grammar, style, usage, mechanics, spelling and originality of their works. The aim is to help them to improve and check their writing abilities and to ensure that they are not unintentionally plagiarizing.
WriteCheck presents users with easy to interpret results showing which sections of a paper appear to be unoriginal and that the writer should verify as properly cited, summarized or paraphrased. The plagiarism checking engine searches and compares papers against a database of more than 20 billion current and archived web pages, 200 million student papers and 110 million periodicals and scholarly publications. The grammar checking engine uses machine learning and natural language processing.
The service is not for free.
PerúEduca is the national educational portal of Peru. It is a learning environment providing educational resources and tools for educational use. It is structured as an interactive communication channel aimed at aiding both students and teachers in the teaching and learning processes by quickly responding to demands and needs of its users and by simplifying communication and interaction processes.
PerúEduca contains virtual courses for teachers which that are part of the ecosystem of virtual education provided by the Department of Educational Technology of Peru. The aim of these courses is to integrate and promote skills, knowledge and attitudes related to professional development. The portal also contains other types of material for teachers: articles, official texts, communities of practice.
With regard to the students, the portal offers resources as videos, games, e-labs, images databases, books, animations, audios, simulations, etc., as well as services as the calendar, careers guidance, etc.
Access to all the content on the website is free (although registration is needed). It is covered with a Creative Commons Licence.
PrimaryPad is a web-based word processor that allows pupils and teachers to work together in real-time. It was conceived by a teacher and is specifically designed for schools.
Pads are collaborative. This means that more people can work on them at a time (indeed that’s the point of it) in order to get ideas, collaborate on a common task, share and quickly posting pieces of information when working in a group or collaborative environment.
PrimaryPad integrates other tools giving the possibility to write sticky notes, to draw, to chat with collaborators, to make templates, to upload and insert images and text from other documents, to use a time slider to go back in time in the edition of the pad to see what was there in a previous version, etc.
The free version of this tool allows to create an unlimited number of pads that last 30 days before being deleted and can be edited by up to 50 people.
The website also contains a library of ideas for teachers of any subject.

aPLaNet Teacher Guide
aPLaNet (Personal Learning Networks for Language Teachers) project is a European Union funded project that aims to help educators to understand benefits of shared knowledge based on social networks, and to learn how to build their own professional personal learning networks using social media.
The Teacher Guide is conceived as a theoretical and practical introduction to the project, providing background to the project and explaining its rationale and goals. It reflects on the terms connected with social media environments, positives and use of the networks, presents educational resources suitable both for teachers development and suggestions for usage within a classroom.
